November has been busy! We've had shows every nearly weekend and we are booked through December 18th! Since my last post we were in Annapolis for the First Sunday Art Festival and Raleigh, NC for the Handmade Market. We were supposed to do a show at the Bethesda Farmers Market last weekend but we had to cancel due to 30 MPH winds.
We continue to meet amazing makers at every show. In Annapolis we were blown away by the recycled creations of Yesteryear Crafts. We love seeing things that are new an unique. I especially liked the key chains and Maryland crabs.
The following weekend we were in Raleigh, North Carolina for the Handmade Market. We were in great company at this market. Although it only had 20 or so vendors - they were all amazing! There was really something for everyone at this show. We loved so many of the vendors, but had to pick one booth buddy. Brian and I both really liked Tiny Badger Ceramics. They make beautiful ceramic dishes home decor items. They also sell at Quirk Gallery in Richmond!
We have a THREE DAY show this weekend in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We've come prepared with nearly two hundred paint by number kits - including our new design for Virginia Beach.
In addition to Holiday shows - we're scheduled to participate in three pop up markets and we are determined to launch our paint party service before the end of the year. Its good to be busy and we are so grateful for the success this little business has seen so far!
Last weekend we were in Richmond, VA (RVA) for the Scotts Addition Pumpkin Festival. Scotts Addition is a part of the city that was mostly warehouses and random businesses when we lived in Richmond (about 7 years ago). Its now a thriving little area with all kinds of new businesses and restaurants. The festival showcased several local breweries, food trucks, and vendors (like us).
It was a very windy day! I thought we might blow away and we had to modify our booth a bit. Thankfully, the wind didn't keep people from coming out. A few friends stopped by, including my favorite little Richmonder and her parents.
In addition to the friendly crowds, we were surrounded by talented and friendly vendors. One of our neighbors had a very cool self-contained booth.
Virginia Outfitter makes cool RVA t-shirts and gear. Check out the RV-A shirt. Love it. Not from or never been to RVA? They sell stuff for other states on their website.
We are taking a break from the craft show circuit this weekend to enjoy some local Halloween Festivities with our kiddos. We finally decorated for Halloween this past week. Check out our Owl Paint By Number as part of our Halloween decor. I used a staple gun to attach the black ribbon and a suction cup hook to hang it on the mirror.
Our little owl will be retired on Nov. 1, 2016 and he's now on sale for $25! We are retiring him to make room for new holiday designs - available in the shop Nov. 1!
We did two shows this past weekend! On Saturday we were in Chambersburg, PA for the Apple Fest and on Sunday I was in Kensington, MD for the Kensington Fall Festival. The weather was beautiful both days. Saturday was a little bit chillier than we expected in the morning, but we were dressed for it. Both shows had good sized crowds. We had the chance to meet with several other crafters and makers at both shows.
Our booth buddy at Apple Fest was Grant House Press, a husband and wife team from New York. They make really lovely cards and other paper goods.
I love that their cards some how feel vintage and modern at the same time.
Our booth buddy at the Kensington Fall Festival, Dove Hollow Designs, sells a variety of handmade home goods. The owner Tammy does't sell online, but her work can been seen at craft shows and festivals through out the DC area.
Those are REAL stems on those velvet pumpkins!
We are in Richmond VA this weekend for a Pumpkin Festival then we have a little time off to gear up for the holidays! I'm busy designing and we plan to release two Christmas kits and one Hanukkah paint by number kit. Our Halloween kits will retire at the end of the month - so if you like them buy them while you can.
