We had a hot but good show at the 2nd Sunday Festival in Williamsburg, VA this past weekend. With a projected heat index of 120, I was worried that no one would be out shopping - let alone at an outdoor street festival. Thankfully I was wrong and we had a nice stream of shoppers throughout the day. There were a lot of talented artists and crafters at the show. One of the highlights of working at art and craft shows has been meeting the other vendors. We had another great neighbor this weekend in River Gems by Cammie Smith. Cammie is from the Northern Neck of Virginia and she makes coastal themed jewelry and art. Her stuff is very fresh and cute! I especially liked her stamped necklaces. That's southern for "river." You can find more of Cammie and her work on Instagram @rivergemsbycammie. As we participate in more shows, I plan to make posts like these about other artists a regular blog feature.
We are taking a weekend off to get ready for the 17th Street Festival in Washington DC on August 27. Expect to see a few new DC area themed paintings in the shop this week as well as new Paint by Number Party kits.
